For my very first blog post I had to go big or go home right? :) Pork ribs are a hit at my home and were an even bigger hit when I posted them on my Instagram and finally I now get to share the full recipe with you guys.
The ingredients are quite simple and are easily found in your local supermarket. You will need;
* 1kg pork ribs
* Soy sauce 5tbs
* Honey/sugar 6tbs
* Garlic 5 cloves (minced)
* Ginger 1 tsp (minced)
* Paprika 1tbs
* Black pepper 1tbs
* Cumin 1tbs
* Fresh rosemary 5 sprigs
Now that you've lined up all the ingredients lets get to cooking :) The first thing that you need to do is marinate your pork for a minimum time of one hour. I marinate mine overnight simply because the longer you marinate the deeper the flavours sip in. Mix all of the spices and rub it on the pork ribs, by rubbing I mean massage the spices into the pork. The second thing you need to do is mix the soy sauce and sugar/honey together. If you're using sugar I suggest that you add a tablespoon at a time into the soy sauce for easier mixing. Once you are done mixing them add your garlic and ginger then mix thoroughly.
When that's over and done with, pour half the mixture on the pork and save the rest for later. Just like the spices, ensure the ribs are fully coated with the soy sauce.Then add your rosemary. Once that's done leave them in the fridge for them to marinate.
Done marinating? okay lets head on to the cooking part. I use a grill to cook my ribs but you can always use your oven. When it comes to grilling I wrap my ribs in foil and let them slow cook on low heat for about 2 hours. After placing them on the grill for an hour, remove the rosemary sprigs and baste some of that left over marinade you had put aside then put the ribs back to cook. After another hour has passed marinate them one last time and cover them up for 5 minutes and let the marinade settle in.
Once all that is done serve them hot and enjoy! Tag me on Instagram I'd love to see your ribs :)
This has left me feeling soooo hungry and I’m just from taking my breakfast............. I must try this.
